Please, remove the Kind attribute of the sunSky node,
this is an unnecessary workflow complication for a simple feature:

The plugin should just detect if one of the visible environment attributes is enabled, to treat the node as a "visible environment":

There is already too much awkward/convoluted way to do things in the Maya plugin,
don't add more of them when integrating new features please.
Also the visible environment section should not be a sub-section of the "daylight" tab (this is not "daylight specific"):
