Call me an idiot, but I never realized that Octane has no AO, unless if rendered out as a multi-pass.
This is interesting because it makes me wonder why Octane has AO but forces users to go outside of their program to use it, as it would make more sense to maybe have a built in compositor much like Blender or Nuke, and allow users to have the ability to add AO.
If not possible, please explain, as this is new information to myself.

Octane have many other possibilities for AO than the AO pass:
- info kernel > type>Ambient occlusion, for a pure AO render.
- Direct lighting kernel > Global illumination mode > Ambient occlusion, use white environment for AOpass-like render.
- there's also the AO Ambient texture in Direct lighting kernel.
- info kernel > type>Ambient occlusion, for a pure AO render.
- Direct lighting kernel > Global illumination mode > Ambient occlusion, use white environment for AOpass-like render.
- there's also the AO Ambient texture in Direct lighting kernel.

oh I get it now, sorry my answer was not appropriate to your question,
you would like to have AO as a texture not a a pass or a kernel.
Well not possible for the momment, I guess it will be possible with OSL in Octane 3.1

Oh I forgot, there is one way to do what you're looking for,
you can use 1 dirt texture nodes to have something similar to a AO texture node.

Sorry I wasn't clear, the Octane Dirt node is an AO texture node.
Anyway here is a example scene,
nothing complicated, just mixing two diffuse texture with a default Dirt node.
