Probably the most important feature that Octane could use would be Light linking.
I had issues when I was first introduced to Octane seeing as you could only use the area light, but I then got over this because the area light has options for IES, which is a pain still, but much better than not having anything at all.
Though, with Light linking, this is the only way to really have good artistic lighting in Cinema 4D, and something most C4D users are used to and want.
Being able to exclude objects that you dont want to be lit and include others is extremely powerful and allows for different types of layering effects as well and just pure freedom of light placement, etc.
I would love to see this implemented soon!
We need more light features!

I know but It's not a plugin dependent feature. Plugins can do much as possible from core.

As i said that's not about how we assign from plugins. Renderer has not a system like that. I mean assigning different emissions to different objects. So we cannot do this without having from the Renderer.Tag12345 wrote:Is there a way to work with C4D's linking system at all? kind of just make something that can link octane to exclude and include through C4D's already existing Light linking system?

As i know that renderer has not a proper structure for that. And i didn't hear any idea to add this. I hope OSL can give some ways to workaround.Tag12345 wrote:ahhh okayy, any ideas in the future for trying to make this possible or at least something like it? or not at all?
