Looking for some guidance on my first PC build. Going to be using it for look development and animation. I also plan on getting more into Houdini although I'm a noob ATM. I'm also just getting started with Octane although I've used C4D for a while, so my specs are intended to help develop my abilities and then expand as needed.
Most important aspect for me is the ability to upgrade my GPUs (reason for the hefty PSU). I think that since I'm still learning, one GPU is fine as long as its around 6-8GB VRAM? I am currently using a 3 yr old fully upgraded imac 27" quad core and a 2 yr old MBP and both are so slow its impossible to learn any of these programs.
Theres also some really daunting stuff about GPU cooling that I'd love to understand, especially if I plan on upgrading (dont want my case to be too small or whatever).
Most used programs: Cinema 4D + Octane Render, After Effects, Houdini
Target Price: $2400-2700
Thanks for taking a look.

About your CPU choice, AfterEffects likes Ghz more than cpu cores. So if you intend to use your CPU not for 3d rendering but for everything else, I think a 6700K @4ghz (but only 4 cores) is more suitable.
