Hello,
I am trying to apply some color noise to a huge number of splines (coming from Houdini via alembic) and I would like them to be colored as a regular flat map projection.
I mean like if they were polys and I just added some flat projection noise on them.
Here is a simplified file, I would them to get the color of the plane, with large noise areas. Here Octane seems to distribute the color hair by hair.
Is it possible in Octane ?
I can't convert them back to regular hair (with the spline guide option) because there are too many of them and C4D freezes when I try.
Idem for sweeps I guess.
Many thanx.
spline with octane hair tag color

In hair objects, hairs has root UV. So we can read and transfer to renderer as in image. But this is not available in splines. You may try to connect your splines to a hair object but i'm not sure that will work.

of course. It's very heavy on data amount and also for the rendering speed.pasto wrote:Thanx Aoktar,
It works with regular hair convertion but it is too slow, I made some sweeps instead, c4d is suffering…
