Problem with Pascal + 3.04.3
I still have not solved it.
I do not even feel that this is really just an instance problem.
But I can say with certainty that there is a serious CUDA problem with Pascal and Octane 3 versions.
The same scene can be rendered with Maxwell TitanX, even through network rendering, and it is working without any problem after 24 hours.
However, the same scene was run with Pascal TitanX network rendering turned off, but CUDA error occurred.
I tested with the 2015.1 version because I wanted the Lightwave 2015.3 version to be a problem. The problem was not solved.
The time and situation of the problem are also quite random, making it difficult to deduce the cause of the problem.
One thing to be certain is that it appears in heavy files.
I sent a file to Juanjgon, so I want you to test it quickly and figure out the cause of the problem.
I think this scene should be a limited problem that only happens on my computer, and whether it is a problem with other Pascal Titanx + Lightwave2015 + Octane 3.
You will not be able to use Pascal TitanX if you do not know what caused this problem.

Hi,

As you know I've trying to reproduce this problem here without luck so far. Just now I'm building a new workstation using Pascal GPUs and powerful enough to render your full scene. I hope to be able to reproduce the problem and have something to report to the main Octane developers in few days.

I'll let you know any news I could have.

Thanks for your patience,
-Juanjo

I have 2 TitanX Maxwels and 2*GTX 1080 so in case you guys need help with testing send me that scene so i can try Maxwell, Pascal and Combo of both.

cheers

Thanks Lewis. I've added to my workstation a Pascal GPU and enough RAM to render the jang2235 scene. The bad news are that it has been rendering all the night without problems so far. I'll continue trying to reproduce this problem today.

Thanks,
-Juanjo

yeas i can imagine how frustrating that is :(.

Either way, if you need another mix of hardware let me know ;).

Is it possible to render files without problems?
Currently my system is using E5-2603 V4, X99-E WS, 128G DDR4, TitanX Pascal * 3 Lightwave 2015.3 + Octane 3.04.3 + Nvidia 375.63.
I get an error between 830-900 frames or after 1180 frames in the file I sent.
Can you confirm that part?

As far as I know, if you set Weight, Scale, Offset, Rotate, etc. for an instance of Surface Type, you will get an error and if you initialize all values, no error will occur.

If this is a system problem, I have another Pascal system and there is the same error.

I've rendered at least 200 frames without problems here. I'll try to render another frame range of the sequence to see what happens.

Do you have other scenes with this problem, perhaps something more simple and easy to debug? Or is this the only scene that you have with this crash?

Thanks,

I am copying data locally to make the same condition as Juanjo, and only one of the three Gpu is activated and tested.

So far, I have activated and tested two or three GPUs. If only one test is done and there are no problems by tomorrow, the reason for the error will become clear.

I am using the same GPU for the same error.

I get an error between 830 and 900. Also, an error occurs between 1170 and 1200.

When testing today, Computer 1 experienced an error at 881 frames and the other at 1197 frames.

It happens too randomly and I can not find the cause.

I have to ask someone else for a test. This is my own problem ....

I'll test you second range tonight to see what happens.

Thanks,
