Hello,

Does anyone know what's the workflow to export the Cloudfx rig to houdini? When I export the vdb via file cache, the color doesn't export to octane correctly.

Sorry, I don't understand the question ... are you trying to export an octane volume object, including materials, from Houdini to Standalone?

Thanks,

Hi Juanjo,

No, I'm trying to export a cloud volume (created with Houdini's CloudFX shelf tool, " Cloud Rig") and import it as a vdb to octane. when I import the vdb file to octane, the cloud is gray, and I tried changing absorption and scattering but I didn't have any luck.

Well, I suppose that this is an environment lighting issue ... using a skylight environment you are going to get a blueish tone on top, and a dark tone on bottom. If you change the environment, the volume object will get other lighting.

In the other hand, if you need a perfect white volume in any kind of environment, you could try to use the density grid as emission grid.

Thanks,
-Juanjo
