I Have this grid that I've created. I'm using Xparticles to spread out my "platonic" geometry along a subdivided plane. I've then added a trail generator and set the connections to nearest distance. But for the life of me I can't seem to figure out how to get the connections to show up in my render. See attached scene. Any help would be awesome please and thank you.
Perfect scene. It would be awesome that's attached! Btw trailer is not more than a spline generator. You can add a objecttag and select hair rendering in tag. It allow to render any splines as hair.HuttonMiller3D wrote:I Have this grid that I've created. I'm using Xparticles to spread out my "platonic" geometry along a subdivided plane. Aoktar, thanks for the reply. I ended up being able to get it to work. I put the trails object inside of a sweep nurb and added a circular spline to sweep along it. As far as uploading the scene...I thought I had! Just now when I went to upload it again I got an error saying that I can't upload files with the extension ".c4d"
You have to pack them as zip/rar. Btw don't use with sweeps. It will be much slower than using hair option in objecttag. It's much more lightweighted for data transfer and octane render.HuttonMiller3D wrote:Aoktar, thanks for the reply. I ended up being able to get it to work. Oh nice here's the scene using sweeps! I'm going to look into what you are suggesting. Now I have to figure out what to do to get some of this DOF nooise to go away. I rendered this image on x5 980ti's in 2 minutes. Which seems like a lot for a relatively simple scene. I have a feeling the lighting has something to do with it. I'm still an Octane newbie.

Is there a way to make the connections fade on? For example...draw from one particle to the next?
coordW is new node for hairs. It allows to use z-mapping along hairs. Take a lookHuttonMiller3D wrote:Is there a way to make the connections fade on? For example...draw from one particle to the next?
