For the past two days, I've been dealing with this picture viewer error saying octane keeps crashing on me. After restarting and shutting down my PC several times today,
I figured that might give my gpu some kind of rest (since i thought that was the issue).

I've provided an unlisted youtube link here demonstrating my problem:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lOFQilT ... e=youtu.be

as you can see, I've got a 980 TI, so I really doubt that my gpu is what's causing this. Also, octane was able to render my scene as well as my passes perfectly fine in the picture viewer,
but when it comes to saving the file locations and starting the final render, it will crash on me 10/10

Any tips or ideas would be appreciated.

Why don't you find BUGREPORT.ZIP and post here first? It's nice video and doesn't give any idea.
Also you can find what's causing a crash.
1-delete all mats and try same. If crash goes away this time delete less mats and try again until find what causes this.

It doesn't make sure any help but it's my first request when a crash happened. Sometimes it gives an accurate point about crashes.
Also your problem seems not about materials. Maybe some geometry causes this. Best way to send me a scene and let me do some testing if still happen on me. Then i can debug the crashes and catch the point.

Only thing i could see that's a crash on renderer side. But don't know the reason. Maybe a problem on some objects. Try to remove some objects and test it until crash goes away.

after running even more tests, i have come to the conclusion that it can render to the picture viewer perfectly fine when i disable motion blur on my camera. Although, turning it on is causing it to crash over and over again.
I even tried making a new camera, but just having motion blur on seems to block it from going through.
