The shadows were softened somewhat by maxing out the Sun size. but didn't go away entirely. Turbidity did almost eliminate the edges when at maximum but I I find this so far from default that I wonder if it has some other cause.

This was produced with an infinite light with a Sun tag using Ver 3 R1.1 Win
