Hello,

So if you had 2-3 1080s and were wanting to run 2-way SLI on a pair, or had one hdmi out to a monitor etc.
Are those physically accessible still to during either live viewer or during render?

In other words, aside form the display card connected to the monitors, does Octane have access to those cards if they're connected to other functions but may not be actively operating those functions, like 2-way SLI for games, and hdmi out for a preview monitor, but when using Octane, both of those functions are off?

Hope that makes some sense, not sure how else to describe it. Mostly just looking ahead to a possible multi 1080 setup, but thinking of ways to use them to their fullest potential in other applications as well.

Thanks.

Hi there,

You can enable and or disable all gpu's you want for rendering.
Also you can use the gpu that is used for monitor and set the priority low (setting in Octane)... then that gpu is also used for rendering, but your monitor work has priority.
You can have a sli for gaming, but better turn sli of when rendering (not hardware bridge, but you can just disable in Nvidia settings).

Cheers,

ArchiCAD25, ofcourse Octane & OR-ArchiCAD plugin (love it)
