As far as I'm not able to post neither in "News & Announcements" nor into "Octane Student and Subscriber Forum" I don't see any other way but posting here

Hello !

1) Wat documents do you need to allow students license ?

Student/Educational licenses require a valid educational institute email address.

institute of what ?
it need to be institute of 3d graphics and design ?
or architectural institute ?
any institute ?

2) I saw there is only 1.2 version of standalone .

Do you plan and (if yes), when you plan to allow V3 for students?

3) Student version means fully functional like a full version ? or it will be with minor restrictions? like a non commercial versions or Nuke and Mari for example

4) Do you plan student versions for integrations - Max, Maya ?
Or student version only applies to standalone releases ?

Best regards !

P.S
Don't you want to recompile DEMO Maya plugin and make it loadable ? Commercial alpha loads well into Maya
(I'm not talking about working well (Just loadable)) .
we hope that Octane render will not forgot about us (Maya users) .

Hi MaaYaa,
because of the limitation that you have correctly listed, the Student license will be discontinued and will be replaced with the upcoming subscription license for Standalone and most plugins, that is currently in testing.
This will give you the opportunity to always have the latest version at a resonable price.

Hi MaaYaa,
yes sure, it will always be possible to buy a perpetual license, subscription is another option to enter in the OctaneRender ecosystem.

Hi,
Today I bought a Quadro P2000 and tried to use my old educational version 1.2 to try how it worked.
Unfortunately it seems that this version doesn't recognize my new card, am I right, or is there anything I can do to make it work?

Hi Laborda,

Yes, the student version is too old and doesn't support pascal GPUs. You might want to get a subscription for Octane VR if that works for you.
