Is there a special way of dealing with IES lights in houdini? I've tried both using the light emission tab on the octane obj properties and with an emission material. I get a very diffused effect no matter how small I make the emitting object. I've tried a grid and a sphere, I've UVed them different ways. When I set the texture type to float/IES I get no light when using the octane obj>light emission workflow. I see others getting proper results in 3ds max and c4d so I assume I'm missing something. I've attached the IES files, a reference render of it from vray, and a render from houdini/octane.

Here's the IES file it won't let me attach it: https://www.dropbox.com/s/mqor9ms2bd5vyvd/15.ies?dl=0

Sorry, I had not seen your question in this thread. What problem do you have with the IES lights used in the object properties? I'm checking this feature and seems to work fine here.

Thanks,
