Hello,

So I'm trying to use a bump or displacement in the shape of a logo on a sphere. The problem is no matter what projection map I use, and no matter if tile is checked or unchecked or seamless is checked or unchecked, the bump or displacement of the logo repeats over and over. I just want to show it on one side one time. What am I missing here?

Thank you!!

Hi pdub77,
unfortunately the current displacement implementation in OctaneRender has some limitation. It works only with image texture nodes and cannot be inverted of modified in any way. In c4dOctane, if you want to disable the tileing option, you have to change the Border mode value in the image texture node, But with displacement this doesn't have any effect, as you can see from the attached file.
The same texture is used in both diffuse and displacement, but while the diffuse texture is showed only once thanks to the border mode value, the displacement texture is still tiled on all the object.
The only solution is to properly unfold the UVs of the object and place the logo texture accordingly, or by restricting the displaced material with a polygon selection, like in the attached scene:
