Hi all

i wonder how i could animate the IBL and emissive Brightness parameter.

1. the emission that is used to make Light is not present in my 3D Package, like in Modo or cinema i would have a SpotLight or AreaLight.
How would i transfer the animated SpotLight brightness from Modo or Cinema to the Emission BlackBody shaders inside cotane 3.

I use Alembic to transfer the Scenes.

2. The IBL Environment Node as i know would have to be set up inside Octane.
Also i need the setup of the env IBL node in my 3D Package (modo, c4d)
How to tranfer the ibl brightness animation to octane?

:) best, pascal

Hi pascal,
Standalone is not designed with animation purpose, so in general, this has been covered with the integrated plugin.
With c4dOctane, for example, it's easy to animate lights materials and so on.
As an alternative, with Cinema 4D you can use the old exporter, in this way you can render in Standalone almost any kind of animation, but you are quite limited by the fact that each frame must be exported one by one, losing a lot of time during the geometry compilation. On the other side, all the integrated plugins have options for sending frame by frame only the animated elements .
Unfortunately the Alembic exported is basically designed to transfer animated geometry.
You could partially do some simple animation with Lua, have a look at this scripted node graph:
