Hey.
was hoping to scoop out some daylight simulations for a client using octane,
but I get some wrong behaviour with the daylight system.

First of all, the system seems to be 2 hours off compared to Maxwell,
and secondly, it's impossible to make it dark at night at specific location,
when it otherwise should be.

See pictures:

Did I overlook something?

Thanks!

I also found there is something wrong.
Shadows seem to be in different direction from other renders and at nights are not dark.
Sorry my English.

Yeh i've noticed that to.When it's dark the render still lets in some light.I could understand it if it was set north of the Arctic circle ;) .

It's not right but as a workaround try using the time offset slider to match up with Maxwell. That will at least correct one of the problems.Assuming that Octanes timing is out and not Maxwells! :o

Yeap
I notice those things too
And even stranger, when you change the north rotation it changes not only the shadow rotation but it changes the sun altitude.

Well, I didn't notice it yet. Thanks for the report - I will have a look at it.

Cheers,

Another little thing now that you are "in the there" :)

It would be great to have the option to pause daylight simulations and/or
render a specific frame interval.

Best

Sorry my English.
