OCR release
It's live but as you can see, there are bug reports we are still addressing related to delta updating:nimble wrote:we are in desperate need for OCR for a couple of jobs. Can we please have a n ETA for public release??

We are providing render credits for free to 200+ users to help us find all corner cases before going to thousands of users. If you want to use ORC for commercial work, please make sure you follow the current issues some users have run into.
That being said, it seems stable with an ORBX scene upload. if you have a large job you can package as an ORBX, please contact FuzzyBro so he can help you run an estimate and see if the cost is right for your project.

Hi Guys,
Does anyone knows ETA for public release.
We're costing up animation job for the big retailer, and wondering when we can expect OCR.
Thanks
Mariusz

It's been live for a while, and from all accounts very stable. Public ORC is being used for large production rendering at scale (including our own in-house productions - such as the VR renders for Unite 2016) . Get a free account from @fuzzybro (email him) and he will set you up with some free credits for testing your scenes and running an estimate.
ORC is perfect for multiple frame/segment rendering such as animation, baking jobs or turntable/daylight loops. It will render all of your frames (up to 1000 at a time, depending on availability) at once, with each frame getting ~1K OB/hour. This can take weeks of rendering down to hours.

Will there be a more public release for ORC? It's quite hard to follow for people who aren't on the forums all the time.
maybe even added as a tab on the top navigation of this site or at least under Resources?
I've used ORC and I still had no idea whether it was fully launched or still in beta.
That said, I'm looking forward to giving it a run on a full production!
cheers
