hi

when i try to pick materials via picker in the "octane materials" window, octane don't 'detect' the material and don't offer the conversion option.

not sure why it happens. octane does select other materials, but not some specific :-(

i have tried to
- close and open the octane material windows
- restart sketchup
- rename the material to a simple letter
- add a new material to the geometri.

does anyone know how to fix this?

Hi,

Just to clarify, is the issue occurring with LiveDB materials, or your own personal library of materials? Is there a consistent element/setting in the materials that fail? If this is a LiveDB material issue, does the problem occur when downloading the material from the DB, or when you try to apply it to geometry? Does this issue happen when you select multiple geometry, or does it happen even when you select single geometry?

hi azen

sorry if i was unclear - it has nothing to do with the livedb.

it happens when i want to link an existing sketchup material to octane. i normally just pick the texture using the pipette in the octane material window - and then i can select "convert to", in the octane material windows - but sometimes i don't get this option - i pick a material, but nothing happens in the octane material windows.

i just wanted to test again, but could not use the scene - see this error viewtopic.php?f=31&t=55254

i will post again if it happens.

Hi,

Just to clarify:

You select an option from under the "Materials" tab, apply to a piece of geometry, then right-click and "Octane Material -> Convert from Sketchup Material" - is this correct? Do you happen to recall the materials that you had your issue with?
