Octane is of course set as default Renderer in Rhino - I have tried with 3.08 and the newest 4 RC but I never see the material previews correctly.
It is very important to have the viewport corresponding to the render view including diffuse, opacity,... and if possible including mix materials.

Can you pls send me a scene where this occurs.Octane is of course set as default Renderer in Rhino - I have tried with 3.08 and the newest 4 RC but I never see the material previews correctly.

Yes, you are right. These appear to not be working. I will investigate.I'm trying v4. I can't see materials previews

You need Rhino5, SR14.Hey Paul, I'm having the same trouble installing OctaneRender for Rhino5 3.08.3.97 (64 bit).
It's saying my version Sr12 is not compatible?

I have updated all the TEST installers for the Rhino6 version of the plugin at the top of this thread with:
4.00.0.98 and 3.08.3.98
- Compiled with Octane 3.08.3 and Octane 4.00 RC5
- Fixed multiple issues causing the Rhino rendered view not showing Octane Image maps correctly
- Fixed material thumbnails not rendering with the Octane 4 version of the plugin

I could not replicate this problem, however I noticed I posted a debug build of the plugin, so perhaps the installer is not right. Can you pls tell me if this version fixes your problem?I'm trying v4 (subscription); there are still some little issues with material preview

Hello Paul,
I couldn't find the Octane 3.08.3.98 Plugin for Rh6 but tried the Octane 4.00.0.98 for Rh6.
The Material Color is now shown in the viewport. That is great.
The only thing is that the material preview ball looks a bit too milky. It seems the color management is different for that. Can the material ball color correspond 1:1 to the diffuse color box?
The other question I have is the appearance of the color in the viewport. Rhino makes it quite shiny and soft color while octane shows it really strong as setted up.
Is it possible somehow that the material representation within the Rhino viewport comes much closer to the octane material setup?
Thank you
Nando
