Hi,
I just installed the latest version (3.02.00.15) but the problem persists: I cannot render Multi-Layers. Do I something wrong here? All I see is 0/0 under "Samples/px." Can I change that somewhere?
Best wishes,
Thomas

You then need to select the layer you want to render in the Octane Render Target - Render Layer settings.

Hi Sighman,
Nope, doesn't work either. Here is a picture of the problem: https://www.dropbox.com/s/1rv1lcw76tkc4 ... -Layer.jpg

Looks like you are talking about render passes, not render layers, so ignore my first reply.
It looks like there are indeed issues with render pass rendering. The Octane team keeps changing the API on me and this one slipped through the cracks.
Saving a single frame using the Save Render Passes button on the Octane Render Viewport works. However, the progress indicators are not updating.
Rendering an animation with render passes (Multi-Layer) enabled is not working at all.
I work on this next.

Hi Sigman,
Here I am again
Doesn't work for me here. First, I cannot tell Octane Render to render e.g. shadows with e.g. 128 samples. It always "tries" to render with the same as the Beauty render. However, this also does not work, because if I want to render an animation, it renders only 40 samples (not 10.000). So, there is still a problem
Best wishes,
Thomas

Please send me a simple scene where you have configured the render target to get what you want.
Note that, if you can't configure it, it is not supported.
Also note:
All render passes, except info passes, use the number of sample configured in the kernel. You cannot have separate max samples for different render passes.
Info passes have their own max samples. Setting max samples for info passes has no effect on the other render passes.

Hi Sighman,
Thanks for your answer. In fact, you can take whatever scene you like
Here is a simple sphere moving around. 3000 samples should be enough. You can now try to create an animation and will see that Octane will NOT render 3000 samples but roughly 40
