If it is a new computer, the problem can be the Visual C++ 2012 redistributable package. Can you please install it and try again?

I have tried the proposed solution without success. I am experiencing the very same problem, with the exact equal error message. Any ideas?

Have you copied the octane.dll, octane.dat and tbb.dll files to your LightWave/bin folder?

Hmm, and Standalone works fine in this system (do you have the drivers updated and so on)?

Weird ... as far I know the only reasons I have found to have problems adding the plugin to the Layout are:

- The octane.dll, octane.dat and tbb.dll files are not inside the LightWave/bin folder (remember that you must overwrite the tbb.dll file that is available there)
- The Visual C++ 2012 x64 redistributable package is not installed
- The CUDA 7.5 driver is not available (if Standalone 3.0 works, this can not be the problem)
- The files are corrupted

Few ideas:

- Are you sure that you have overwritten the tbb.dll in the LightWave/bin folder?
- Are you sure that you have the x64 version of the redistributable package installed (not for example the x86 one). You can check it in the windows installed software window, as you can see in the attached image.

Hello again juanjo .
I executed Octane render and preferences / devices , I get Cuda 8 .
Could this be the cause ??
I have also executed octanebench and one of the gpu 's turned off.
to return to execute octane bench , recognizes me only 3 of the 4 gpu 's

Nope, I have also CUDA 8 drivers here and all works fine.

If you have the octane files in the LW bin folder, and the 2012 x64 redistributable package installed, really I can't understand why Layout doesn't want to add the plugin.

Can you please try to move the plugin to other folder, outside the LW support/plugins directory, and be sure that it is not in this place? Perhaps the Layout is trying to add it automatically, and there is a problem with it. Can be a good idea remove the LW config files after move the plugin outside, and try to install it again.
