Hey all,

I am very new to Octane (like two weeks new) and Im having an issue when using Octane with Mayas render layers.
When I have my scene set up with Mayas native render layers and batch render with Octane, a folder for each render layer is created like it supposed to and Octane says its rendering but no frames are written out. I watch Octane render in the script editor and everything seems fine but my folders stay empty. When I render with no render layers and separate everything out into different scenes like the old days everything renders fine.

I was under the impression that Octane and Mayas render layers worked, am I wrong, or is something else going on here?

Thanks

Hi HOTFVFX,

sorry for the bug. :(
Working on version 3.00 right now and redoing many parts.

Will look into this as soon as possible, but pretty busy atm.

Best,

Yes Maya render layers mostly work with Octane (except some attributes can't be overridden).

I guess you have the same bug as logged here :

This have to do with multi level sub-folders or using maya TOKEN in "filename setting".
Keep it really simple and everything will work (using them rigth now with a simple name and no root folder in "filename setting" and it works).

Great! Thanks for the reply Kai and Calus I appreciate it! I will give the naming thing a try. Good luck with the updates Kai, looking forward to it.
