Octane 3 and OpenCL
Moderator: face_off
My understanding is that 1080 support requires Cuda 8, which Nvidia has not released yet. Search these forums for "1080" for more info.

I don't get how that's related to OpenCL though? As the Octane 3 news clearly states it will support OpenCL, but I just want to double check it actually does as I've not seen more details about it.

OpenCL is scheduled for sometime in the Octane 3 release cycle, but is not in the current Octane 3.0 build.

Opencl support in octane will never happen, (as Opencl has been killed by apple stopping support).
Instead Otoy created a CUDA cross compiler to get Octane code working natively on AMD GPU and other plateform (so not using Opencl at all)
This already works but still have to wait an issue on drivers to be corrected by vendors.
