I'm currently not working with the rendernodes.
How can I change a material on an object with another one in the same scene?
Is there any copy and paste solution to apply materials without using nodes?

As I know, there's no copy & paste for materials. You need to save the node for the material, reimport it and make the change you want on this copy of the material.

Thanks OctaneFX

It comes from Keyshot:
Simply Shift / Left Mouse Button to copy and Right Button to paste ; and from the Contxtmenue you can choose as single Material or sum up for a new Material group.

Would nice to see similar in Octane.
