Hi there,

just one - may be kind of stupid - question. Using the Volume object in the octane alpha, i see the three options default, cloud1 and random cloud. i can scale the box as i want. But for - let´s say - a simple cloud in sphere-shape i need a VDB file?

Is there any possibility to get some other volume-shapes without using any other software (for example Hudini) ?

Is it "thinkable" to drag a sphereobject under the volumeobject as a child of it and get a spherical cloud someday?

Thanks a lot for answering!

Have a nice day,

Chriz

Nice - I had exactly the same question in mind - glad that you have this on the radar.
I'm looking for a quick way to get an area filled with volumetric lightrays (speak: lit fog), and using the "global"fog method with the daylight system seems not like an efficient way to get volumetric lightrays in a specific place...

That looks great. You are making solutions to my problems before I even have a chance to ask for them :)

Looking forward to this! Will it be in Version 3.01, 3.1, or 4.0? ;)

Currently available but just support spheres. Add a few spheres under volume object.

Excellent, thanks! I look forward to trying it.

Will it work on MoGraph-cloned or other instanced spheres? That's not critical for me now but I imagine it would be helpful.
