Hello everyone,
I recently purchased Octane and have been using the C4D plugin. I currently have a single GTX 970 and was wondering what sort of performance increases I would see from adding a second one. I am not super versed in the hardware side of things, so forgive my ignorance. Thanks in advance!

Performance increase will be approximately double.

Thanks guys! I ordered it and it should arrive later today. Again, I don't know much about the hardware side of things. Is there anything specific I should do when putting in the new card, hardware or otherwise? Thanks so much!

Your power supply has to be strong enough and you should check your mainboard's manual which PCIe slots to use.
Plus you might have to reinstall the Nvidia driver. That's it.

Great. I have a 550w power supply in there now. Octane will not play well with SLI correct? If so, will this be ok? Any recommendations?

You won't see any benefit from having the cards in SLI, but it won't do any harm.

re: your power concerns, the gtx970 will draw 145w on top of whatever else you've got. See here for more details: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/i ... x-970.html

Got the second card. Works great. Thanks for all the help.
Wondering if I should get SLI bridge. I understand that it doesn't help Octane, but it won't hurt it either correct? And any gamin I do on that rig should be improved by the SLI yes?
Thanks in advance.
