I got a mail today from Refractive Software.
But the Link of this mail is to an old octane version.
Here is the Link:

I also received an email from Refractive this morning titled "Octane Render v1.043 beta2.43 available for MS Windows, Linux and Apple Mac OS X".

I thought that a new version was posted, only to find that it was an older version.

I guess that it was meant for those people that don't frequent the forums much.

I got it too. Hopefully it was an accidental send, not someone hacking into the Refractive DB.

I think a better way from here on in would be if Octane checked when you boot it up and notified you if a new version was available for download.Similar to CCleaner if you've ever used it.It would save refractive having to send out emails whenever a new version is posted.

that would actually be a legit use for the live service. About the only legit use for it.

This mail got sent around, because we considered 2.43 stable enough to move it from the Release Candidate Testing Forum to the Commercial Releases Forum and to inform everyone, who is not frequently reading all forums.

Cheers,
Marcus

The problem is, they sent out an email linking to 2.3 v4 instead of 2.43. That's why people are confused :)
