Hi,
can I install 2 versions of different configurated slave daemons?
If yes how?
Sometimes I would like to run the slave with only "one" GPU and
sometimes, overnight f.e., I want to run the slave with 2 GPUs activated.
Not a big thing, but it would be simpler without having to deinstall
and reinstall the slave daemon every time.
thanks
Mike

You can use command line for that.
I've got 2 shortcuts on my desktop;
For all GPU's;
"C:\Program Files\OTOY\OctaneRender_2_23_2_win64\octane_slave.exe" --net-master-port 21000 --net-master-address 192.168.0.107
For one GPU;
"C:\Program Files\OTOY\OctaneRender_2_23_2_win64\octane_slave.exe" --net-master-port 21000 --gpu 1 --net-master-address 192.168.0.107
You can use "--gpu 0" , "--gpu 1" , ...

Hi,
on my mashine nothing happens when I doubleclick on the octane_slave.exe
Only which works is to doubleclick on the "run_installed_daemon.bat"
I have absolutely no idear about command-line stuff.
But when I configure/install the daemon bat I have to type for GPUs "1","2" or "all" without any other word
So in the shortcut of the "run_octane_slave_daemon.bat" what do I have to type i the target field?
thanks

You have to run the slave_daemon.exe as a shortcut with the other details - gpus, out of core textures etc. as arguments to the shortcut. You don't need to run the .bat file.
Create a shortcut to slave_daemon.exe. Right click on it and select "properties".
Find the target field - that's where you need to enter the path to the slave and any arguments specfic to you/your machine configuration (as per @janman's post).

Hi mike,
it's not a problem, it's how it works
In normal condition, you install the demon and it automatically starts at startup, or by clicking on the run installed demon shortcut. You cannot start the demon by doubleclicking on it becquse it cannot read all the necessary settings. If you have particular needs, just uninstall the demon, and prepare different bat files for your needs
