I know this may be bigger then the scope of the plugin, and more of an OTOY thing....but you've integrated so many things in the past...FIberFX, TFD etc, I just have to ask.

Is there a way to get openVDB import for more than just volumetrics?

The reason I ask is it would seem to be the golden ticket for fluids (workflow wise) exporting from either Houdini or Realflow natively into Octane...as they both can mesh to openVDB right now.

Is this doable, or has Otoy only implemented the volumetric side of this.

Thanks

I suppose that you can load a fluids OpenVDB file without problems, but the problem is the shading. Currently you can't use the octane materials with the volumetric data, so it is hard render fluids right now.

I was able to load some liquid sims from houdini....but as you say, they are only set up for volumetric shading.

Would be great to be able to use it with the regular materials...but maybe that is an otoy limitation?

Just thought I would make some noise as they are preparing version 3, now may be a good time to flip the switch (probably not quite that simple :D)
