Hi Team,
Just installed a second graphic card. 4 + 4 GO memory now.
But indicator of free memory in IPR/rendering windows indicate 1400 MO free !
Any ideas ?
Thanks in advance

If you are using your display GPU for rendering a lot of memory can be not available for Octane because it is used by the Layout OpenGL, system resources, etc.

If you try to render only with the GPUs not used for display, you should have near all the available memory free.

The GTX 680 has only 2GB of GPU RAM. If you use it for rendering you can't have more available RAM, even with the 4GB of the GTX 980. If you are using the 680 also for display, the available memory is going to be even less of 2GB.

Octane only can use the memory of the GPU with less available RAM because the whole scene must fit in the memory of all the GPUs used for rendering. If you render only with the 980 you should have near 4GB of free ram for Octane.

Thanks Juanjo,
I need to make a point because i'm don't understand very good.
I've a GTX980 and i'm going to buy a GTX 980 TI with 6 GO de RAM. In theory, i've 10 GO for Octane ?
Thanks and sorry for my english

Entire scene must be loaded into all rendering GPUs.

Available VRAM is what is left in lowest GPU.

GPU VRAM do not add together.

Thus, if you have a 1.5GB GTX 580 rendering at same time as 12GB Titan X, you will have less than 1.5GB available. Disable the 580 and you would have 12GB available.

Yes, this how it works. If you have two GPUs you get twice rendering speed.
