Hello all, I have a question. We are planning to do music videos green screen with octane render backdrops + motion tracking etc.. My goal was always to have 4k video. But haven't bought a 4k camera yet, coming soon. But in terms of rendering, since most of the time music videos our compressed to HD 1080p for youtube etc.. Should we render in octane at 1080 or 4k? or 2k? Does the same hold for render as does for video, where its better to shoot higher res the quality will be better when compressed.. same for rendering??
green screen 4k. render at?
thanks

Hi,
yes of course, in general, the render resolution should match or even be greater to the footage resolution. You know, pixels are easy to reduce, not so easy to enlarge ;)

Another factor is that when you downsize something, things that are "small" (fine lines, for instance) in the larger, master copy may be resized out of visibility in the small, resized version.

Ok cool.. But just for example, say something is rendered at HD 1080. And then compared to something that is render ultra HD 4k and then downsized to HD. Will the quality be better? As far as I know, when it comes to filming, the quality IS better when shot at higher res and downsized rather than just shooting at 1080.
