plugin 3.00.0.1 liveDB freeze on import
Moderator: juanjgon
Thanks for reporting. Yes, I can reproduce here some problems with the LiveDB window in the 3.00.0.1 build. It seems a problem with the Octane alpha 2 API, because with the alpha 3 all seems to work fine.
I will release a new build of the plugin this week, that should have this problem fixed.

Thanks Juanjo !
Wondered if it wouldn't be interesting to have a sub-forum for the Octane alpha plugin, so that we can report bugs without saturating the main "Houdini" section.
Not that it's too saturated yet...
edit :
on a second thought I could/should have posted this in bug reports instead, which would negate my suggestion. not sure if I can move this topic ...

Great about the live db!
to be more accurate regarding the gradient, it would seem that it ignores the 2 gradients points on the extreme of either side. For example taking your example screenshot, try playing around with the red or blue position without adding more interpolation points. On my end it doesn't update. A workaround is to leave the 2 extreme points in their place and create more to move around. that works fine.
Thanks alot!

Yes, the problem is that the Octane gradient node always must have the extreme positions in place at the start and end points. Your workaround using more keys is the way to get a constant ramp in the left or right ramp extremes.

thanks for the confirmation.
It would be nice to be able to reference copy the color of the extreme left to the one right after it, and same to the right. The problem is when adding more interp points afterwards change the order and so doesn't maintain the relationship between the 2 pairs on either end. Is there a way to remedy this easily on your end?
Thanks again!
