Hello

No matter what I try, the shadow passes show just blank

The black shadow layer shows pure black, the shadows layer pure white, and the colored shadow layer also dosnt work
All other passes seem to work fine. All the preview images aside of alpha show only black for some reason too. The non shadow passes seem to all work still.

Here are my settings:

Using R16 on Win10 with 4770k , GTX 980 ti , 32 GB

Btw is it possible to render out shadows without the object they are on, like this ?

Anyone an idea ?

It's very different than you supposed. First why do you try to get shadow passes?

Lighting passes are isolated from other passes. You should use these without mixing with others.
Render layer part is for getting shadows and reflection of a group objects over other layerID group.

I need shadow passes because I need isolated shadows

Im not sure if I understand what you mean with the render layers. My settings are on the screenshot, if there is something wrong I did, it should be visible.
I tried assigning the ground different layer IDs than the object and vice versa, but nothing had any effect on the outcome.

Is the Ground Layer 1 which u have activated?
Save as png, tif wont work well as output.

Maybe u have to aktivate invert?

Shadow is not a shadow as in biased renderers. Shadows are not calculating by layered calculations as i know. So not separable, at least not easy to do as i know. Check Diffuse Direct/Indirect.
Render layers are for getting SHD/REFLs of some objects to others. See videos

So is there a way I can get the final image + shadows on alpha ? Like the previously posted image ? Because thats actually what I need, not the seperated shadows.

Check render layers or matte option on materials. See videos for details.
