Could that be an option for a future release? Not sure if 3.0 will do this differently. I find the current way of selecting materials in Octane seems very primitive ... a very basic list, organized by a single attribute of the material of sorts. Id wish it to be more like a proper explorere and DB:
Not just this long, cumbersome listview .. but also proper gallery view (2D table) of materials, with or without details/summaries etc. And as with a proper DB, several assignable attributes to make a search easier etc. Despite usually working with an octane plugin, I like to come to octane standalone for material testing etc .. it's just WAY faster to use than the plugin I use (Blender), once you're failry happy with a mesh and don't need to edit it for tests.
A better material selector
