Hi,

recently one of my 780 TIs coolers broke (and EVGA model) and I had to replace it. I could not find a suitable cooler but this one: http://www.arctic.ac/eu_en/accelero-twin-turbo-iii.html .
I installed it and it works, but my problem is that it is huge. I had planned to add another low profile card like a quadro k420 for my displays, but with this cooler I can barely fit my second 780 ti.
The biggest problem is the huge backside vram cooler. I am a complete amateur in this realm, but I think its odd that this passive cooler is mounted on the back of the graphics card (with thermal pads applied to the places where the ram, voltage regulators, etc are located).

Does it really help that much with cooling my card or do you think it would also work without that. I have no intention to overclock the card, I just wanted to replace the stock cooler.

Thanks!

What is exact model of Your GPU? give us link that has exactly the same model number =) not like 780Ti but full SKU number.. - there are solution that might be usable, but to revcoment something we need at least know i it's reference design or not..

Thanks for your reply Tom,

it´s a EVGA Gtx 780 Ti Superclocked with ACX cooler. P/N: 03G-P4-2884-KR

This should be it: https://www.evga.com/Products/Specs/GPU ... 0C494D83DC

Your GPU seems to be reference design (at least by this article).

now the question what is the remaining of Your system - what other components You have =) 'cos at least from Your possitions I think You have two options:

* try to get reference cooler & mount it on (there's quite some Guys in this forum who converted their GPUs),
or..
* get BPU bracket from Corsair & use it with one of AIO coolers =) for better performance thermal, lowered noise & more rendering speed.

Tom, what brackets are you referring to?.. All one needs to do The Mod is an AIO, little heatsinks for vrm/vram, thermal tape or glue, zip ties and adequate airflow over heatsinks....

If done with any one of the AOIs that has the hoses attached at side of block/pump, everything is kept within two slots, with plenty of breathing room.

corsair GPU bracket because not all like to play with zip ties..- Yes it's a solution, cheap & quick one..but not for everyOne (the same as with watercooling at all).

Corsairs solution make it really easy & still fit into dual slot space, unlike Kraken g10. that needs three slots. Pluss You do not need to worry that if You bend a pipe a bit it wil loosen AIO contact with the chip..

Hadn't seen those yet.. I guess that is another option, but I personally will never have a GPU fan again. I have one 140mm blowing on both GPUs from the side, towards heatsinks... everything is cool, and beast is damn quiet. GPU fans are just too loud. And zip ties rock, so long as you get the good ones from hardware store. They are quick and painless to install, and you are not limited to a shroud that is made for a particular gpu model. And once one has zips on and feel how secure they are holding pump on GPU, one does not lose sleep worrying about them coming off.

I actually have (non-fan-type) Dwood brackets (google them) on my 580s, but only because I had them. I ordered them back when I had my 460s, but used zips because it took 10 days to get Dwoods... anyhoo, I had zips on 460s for around a year, and would use them again without hesitation.

Edit: just bought a 780Ti (03G-P4-2883-KR) on eBay... after reading some reviews of 03G-P4-2883-KR, maybe this will be way quieter than I was thinking... hell, if it is, I will just keep it on air until I do my loop... So ignore what I wrote above about gpu fans, for now. ;)

Thank you for your replies.

Unfortunately, I have already bought the aforementioned cooler, and I want to avoid spending more money on this than necessary.

My thought was to buy a riser like this one

http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B0059QJ ... KAKR8XB7XF

and use this for my third gpu.

Would this work?

Another thought was dismount the big passive cooler at the back of the card and instead use some of these:

http://www.amazon.de/Alphacool-GPU-Alum ... 4DXXKM319Q

As you can see on the photo, there should be enough space to mount these things.

Cheers!

ghm, displace GPU with Ribon cable (You gave a link for) & do not worry =) think that's the best & most logical solution.

I have read more than a couple reviews of Arctic's various coolers (not just hybrid), where most everyone says those backside heatsinks are useless... Tom, if Rahi has a backplate, could he not use that, rather than that ridiculous heatsink?
