Hello,

I am new to Octane and have been looking at video tutorials that show an Octane Materials tab in the Rhino plugin, that I understand is now gone, and that it's functionality has been folded in to the Rhino Materials tab. This is all well and good, but how do we access the LiveDB materials now that the button that was on the original Octane Materials tab is gone?

Your assistance with this would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi - Use the Import->LiveDb menu in the Octane Material panel.

Hi Paul,

I'm sorry to be so dense, but I'm not seeing what you're showing me. Could you look at this very quick screencast video and tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Thank you.

Hmm - where are you setting up your octane material settings? (like diffuse color, roughness etc)

Hi. You need to convert the Rhino Material to an Octane Material before you can load from the LiveDb. Pls see the 3rd paragraph at https://docs.otoy.com/Rhino/?page_id=35.

One thing - Importing material from DB puts new settings to existing octane material - not creating fresh new one material in rhino
