Hello Everyone, I've just graduated from a vfx program, and going to build my first workstation computer mainly for Houdini, Maya, and Nuke.
This are the parts that I plan to get for this computer:
Intel core i7 5820K
Asus Strix GTX 980Ti
32Gb of RAM

Is this a good choice of CPU and GPU for these softwares?
Will it be enough to use just one video card such as the one mentioned above... in order to work and render in Houdini and Maya?
And should I choose the reference version of GTX980Ti, or the overclocked one?

Please help me to understand this. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards,
Romeo

hi there, yes this is ok. you might also consider having an additional gpu (even a less powerful one) to man the display so that you can use the gtx980ti solely for rendering.
