I really want to unload the octane plugin. Is this possible somehow?

I know you're in Maya, but in C4D, I just switch the renderer to a different type and delete any Octane tags.

In Maya I would normally go to -Windows>Settings/Preferences>Plug-in Manager and unload it from there.
When I create a new scene and add nothing and load Octane and then try to unload it again this gives the following error:

If I click "Force" Maya crashes.

If I delete the octaneSettings node and flush the undo queque before trying to unload the pop-up doesn't show but Maya crashes.

That doesn't work.
Octane remains in the scene file. Just doesn't load anymore.

just saving the file again in binary format (mb) should get rid of the octane nodes, but if it does not, go to : File>Optimize scene size> remove unknown nodes > remove now

I'll try that. Thanks.
Bit of a hassle but if it works it'll do.
