Hi all
I'm having an issue with hair color material not displaying right in the picture viewer. Live viewer renders hairs in different color as desired but in picture viewer they get assigned only with one color. Am I missing something here?
R16 2.23.2 R5 win8.1
Any help appreciated
Cheers
Sami

Because, LV assings some random uv if there is not uvmapping. Picture viewer is always correct. See my attached scene. It works well when you have an uv set.

This explains the color jittering for tracer hair in LV. Any way to assign uv's for tracer splines, this actually being my challenge.... Or any other workaround to get tracer splines rendered in different colorsLV assings some random uv if there is not uvmapping

I'm not master on xparticles. Is there not any ways in tracer to assign some uv mapping?

From X-particles support:
-syou can only assign UVs to xpTrails after meshing and converting them
into geometry. Unfortunately the workflow with Octane Hair is currently
not supported by Otoy as far as we know.
Take a look to features of 2.24.2 TEST2.

Hey Aoktar
Do you know if this feature will be available in version 3? I came across this very tutorial and I am practising my xparticles and hair but can only use the live viewer as it does not render on my version which is version 2. By the way I love octane and I love the C4D plugin. It has revolutionised my 3D workflow so congrats on a cracking job

It's working on 2.25-R3. Just remove hair effect from render settings. It avoids to capture dataMichaelYpes wrote:Hey Aoktar

Great, I have ver 2.24 so I guess need to update. I take it fairly straight forward as I heard somewhere that I have to completely uninstall and reinstall octane? Or is that just for version 3? Thanks in advance
