Is the Octane 2.24.1 C4D plugin compatible with the new release of Cinema R17?

I would love to know that answer to this too. I can't seem to get it to work.

all i can say is that it works for me on my machine. I suggest to ask this in the C4D subforum (Plugin Discussion/Support) :)

Yea Octane works in R17. I bought R17 Broadcast edition not to long ago then bought Octane a week later after testing the demo out and botht he demo and license versions worked.
