We run a shop that renders in Cinema 4D on Mac. Because of that we decided to focus on CPU power and purchased (2) 2013 24 tread Mac Pro's with the dual AMD D700 GPUs.
We would like to look into rendering with Octane by using the OTOY cloud or placing a slave PC with a handful of GPUs to network render over LAN and WAN.
Do we have any options to use our Mac Pro to render with Octane when using a network rendering without a local NVIDIA GPU.
If so, is there a way to add a local GPU? Thanks for the guidence.

probably in the future will should be the OpenCL support, so it will be possible to use the ATI cards directly.
In the mean time, i guess that you have only this options:
- go for the thunderbolt solution for adding nvidia GPUs to the Mac Pro 2013, here is a useful link:

There is another option but it is not for C4D:
- use the blender server for working with the Mac Pro without an nvidia card on board, here is the link:
