Octane doesn't work, I need help (C4D-R16)

Hi everybody,

I'm new here, so nice to meet you!

My name is Nacho and I'm from Spain.

I've downloaded the Octane software and plugin (both demo) to try it before purchasing the license, just to be sure that my computer is OK with it.

When I copy all the files in my plugins directory, inside MAXON, Cinema 4D R16, plugins (as the manual says), I open then C4D and I can't find the plugin, it doesn't work.

Does anybody know what else must I do?

My computer is Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5, NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M, 8GB RAM.

I need help!!!

Hi,
you need to check:

1- Update to 16.050
2- One of latest Cuda drivers
3- Read readme.txt and delete other versions of plugin files as write in document

My note: Your gpu is very slow to taste fast rendering. A gtx 680 or higher is much better. gtx 780 or gtx 980 versions are fastest.

I don't understand the last point: I have no versions of Octane, I shouldn't have to delete anything, is that right?

Anyway, if I don't see the Octane tab in my menu because of some of these points, is normal?

Osx version comes with a zip file and contains "readme.txt" and all versions of plugin. But first absolutely need to update to 16.050.
