Hi guys,

I've been using Octane for about 3 months now and I never considered it unusual behaviour - until I met other 3D artists working with Octane not having this behaviour - that after writing geometry in the RAM cache the LV renderer starts several times over before rendering the full image. The render starts for a few seconds then resets and starts over, repeating this a few times. It is nothing too problematic but I wonder Why this happens.

Is there anything in particular which could cause a multiple render-restart in the LV, anybody out there is experiencing this as well? My colleagues and I couldn't figure out anything specific after comparing setting on multiple machines so any feedback would be appreciated.

In some scenes, we can have some generators, effectors or some special objects. These are producing some internal change messages. Plugin sniffs and compare all changes to detect what happened. Sometimes it can't detect accurately and this updates occurs. Also see attached pure c4d file. Interactive rendering is active. Wait until render finished and click on viewport and please say what are you seeing? Ex. same problem is available some other renderers which try to work as we do. This is a fundamental problem of C4D messaging system. I hope they improve it.

Oh I see it even happens with the internal render engine. Thanks for explaining Ahmet.
