I have the problem that most of the Geometry I load into houdini is only rendered magenta even if I append a divide node with convex ticked on.
Maybe someone can help me with that ?
Thank you so much !

If the surfaces are rendered magenta, this means that you don't have an Octane material attached to them. Simple add a Octane material and assign it to the objects. http://render.otoy.com/manuals/Houdini/?page_id=728
What kind of material? ... perhaps it is not valid, you need a valid Octane material node tree available inside the SHOP node, something like this, for example.
The issue is that you are working with an .obj input file. This file has a lot of material groups, and you need to assign the Octane material for each group using the material node. You can also drag and drop the SHOP node over the object, and Houdini allows you drop the SHOP in the material group under the cursor and create the material SOP node for you (but I am not sure if this feature is available in the demo version)
