Hey guys,
I have the Intel i7 2600K 3.7GHz CPU, (Socket LGA 1155)
and I want to upgrade my system.
Comparing it to the new CPUs I see that the difference doesn't justifying buying a new CPU.
However, I wanna have the possibility to put 3 GPUs on my motherboard...and at the moment all the motherboards I find are for different sockets.
I found one with 2 PCIe X16..but I'm looking for one with 3.
Anybody have an idea?
Thanks in advance,
Elad.

Just the quad-channel DDR4 memory and (up to) 40 lanes of PCI-E 3.0 alone should be enough to make you dump that pup on eBay and go full LGA2011-v3/X99. I'm loving my Champ.
But if not going X99, Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD5H should do the job. You may need to get it used on eBay etc... little long in the tooth too...

Yes. Especially if you are doing things other than rendering as well. PS, AE etc... and of course your 3d weapon of choice is going to benefit big-time too. Mine is completely laughing its ass off at anything I throw at it... hundreds of thousands of instances etc....Minus GPUs, you can build a total effing beast for under $1500.

Cool, so I will listen to your advice.
It's been some times since I investigated what's "new" with technology so I'm quite confused
it seems that eventhough the LG1150 is newer, the 2011 v3 is stronger, right?
Also, regarding DDR4,
the first CPU I found (i7-5820K, most popular seems) states it supports DDR4 2133,
however when I look for most popular DDR4 cards I see DDR4 2400.
weird no?
Also with the motherboards themselves, so many options!
MSI X99S SLI PLUS
MSI X99S Mpower
Asus X99-pro
I know i'm multi-asking here
but I'm very thankful for the information !
thanks !

Okay, let me say right here that I have the very highest respect for smicha, and would consider his advise to be much more sound than my own. All I know is my beast is the shizz. It sure feels like the best money I've spent in quite a while... smich, if you are saying this dude should just get a 1155 compatable mobo for three GPUs, who am I to argue... I think most folk around here would call you THE authority where workstations are concerned.
