Hi, I'm a new license customer and new to octane. What I was experiencing is a 'not responding' message in 3dsmax continuosly. It happens especially in the material editor, when I go from one material to the other or right clicking on a material or trying to change themode to slate material. Always with the octane viewport running. It's difficult to describe exactly when it happens but is like every each minute or two. It freezes the viewport but if you wait some seconds (around 30) it restores.

I have two 980M SLI > I disabled SLI mode
I'm using version 2.23.2 - 1.8
I tested 2014 and 2015. The same in both
I tried changing from nitrous to direct 3d or opengl > no change
I tried putting low priority to one card > no change

I don't know what else to try. It's difficult to work smoothly this way.

I was going to try downloading another version, maybe the 2.04 that is supposed to be the latest stable version. Is this a good idea?

I would really appreciate any help. I'm driving crazy and I love this piece of software!

Thank you.

First try to check if this remains after you disable in Octane settings the GPU which is used by Windows for the display.
If this solves the problem - then this is the case when the CUDA rendering process eats the resources needed by Windows display and 3ds Max OpenGL or Direct3D...

Thank you Jimstar for your fast reply!! I really appreciate

I tried that and it was still doing the same....BUT ..... I have just installed your new version 2.23.2-2.2 (TEST) and is working perfectly well ! At least it didn't freeze for more than an hour and that's great. I don't know what could be the change in this new version that is fixing the problem but at least for me it's working!

it's a complete different experience working without freezes! I had to re do my materials though but it doesn't matter since I'm not yet in production.

I'll wait for the stable version of 2.23

If you have an idea of what is doing the trick, just let me know (just curious)

thank you so much!
