Animations not rendering in Standalone after SP5 upgrade
Moderator: face_off
Hi I am using Modo 801 SP5 I am trying to export a basic animation as a .ocs file to work in Octane Standalone (because of more options within standalone) but I cannot get the animation to render each keyframe. I have setup the folder for each keyframe to be exported but when I click the render icon (that looks like the play symbol) it wont render each frame. This is strange because I can scrub through each frame by moving the slider but I still cant render each frame for some reason. I am using the latest version of Octane Render 2.23.2 and I am using the latest modo plugin also. Can anyone help me out here?

To export an entire sequence to OCS, use the octane.saveAnimation command. http://render.otoy.com/universe.php#42R ... Animations

Thanks for the quick reply Im new to this software please forgive me lack of knowledge but where are commands entered? do you mean through the Modo software or through the Octane Render software if so can you tell me where? Or does it mean saving the file name as octane.saveAnimation again sorry for my noob questions.
Type 'octane.saveAnimation' as a Modo command.

Sorry there is a misunderstanding I can render within modo no problem but I cannot render an animation within Octane Standalone. The weird thing is that I can scrub through keyframes in Standalone but the render frames doesnt work for me. I have attached a screenshot showing the icon which wont render any frames
The button you have highlighted is the Start Rendering button. The timeline is off to the right.
Might I suggest you have a read of the Octane Standalone manual. http://render.otoy.com/universe.php#rStandalone

I have made a little progress finding where the Modo command is located on the Modo interface I can see all the commands but I dont see an octane.saveAnimation in there I have tried entering this into the command window but I get an error message. I really want to get to the bottom of this because I could render animations before no problem but after I upgraded to SP5 I cant seem to get it to work the main reason I bought Octane for animation rendering. Can you help me out with this problem I cant seem to find any help on google and I have read the manual but still cant seem to get animation working in Octane Standalone. Can anyone help me out I really want to get animations working again.
Thanks
Thanks

If you'd like to render animations in the standalone, we ship a script with the standalone that renders animations. You can launch the script via menu -> Script -> Batch rendering.NeoCortex wrote:Sorry there is a misunderstanding I can render within modo no problem but I cannot render an animation within Octane Standalone.
