Would it be possible to activate the depth of field sampling whilst in panoramic mode ? I'm doing some lat-long renders and would LOVE to be able to apply dof on them straight out of the box.
I know the concept of depth of field is a difficult one once you deal with a non-standard lens like a 360x one, but would it be possible to just use the distance from camera to a point for focal reference ? And then an arbitrary fstop ?

DOF in panorama lens.

Unfortunately the concept of z-depth is completly negated when using panoramic lenses, I've opted for a position pass that can generate a radial ramp from the camera and outwards, but the reason for wanting IN the render is the problem of occlusion and edge artifacts.
Hey guys, how does the position pass ramp work? I've used position passes before for relight but not for any other workflows.theotheo wrote:Unfortunately the concept of z-depth is completly negated when using panoramic lenses, I've opted for a position pass that can generate a radial ramp from the camera and outwards, but the reason for wanting IN the render is the problem of occlusion and edge artifacts.
