I want to bring in an .orbx file exported from Maya, but it seems that it only supports .ocs files. When I open the .orbx file from Maya in the octane standalone, I can't save as an .ocs. I can only package it.

Am I missing something?

thanks,
Dale

So I made a workflow to get .orbx files in.

I create an octane node in nuke. I edit the scene and then in the octane node graph import the .orbx scene. It comes in as one file, so I double click that, select all the nodes, copy them and go back to the top node level and paste and it works....

hopefully I am missing something obvious.

AND, is there a way to just connect a nuke 2D image node to a texture channel in the octane graph?

looking forward to making this work.

thanks, Dale

Just type *.orbx in the Import Octane Scene button dialog and load the ORBX directly as you would the OCS. I will add ORBX to that file dialog in the next release. I would encourage you to import OCS rather than ORBX files - because if you import ORBX files the OBJ and ABC assets will be inside the ORBX file, so may be a little slower to load (but I haven't actually tested this).
