Hair material- not working

I have read the manual and searched around this forum (and google of course) with no help found. I have added hair to my object, but none of the channels in the hair material come through, like Length, Frizz, Kink, Bend, etc. The only parameter that seems to do anything is Thickness, although the Curve has no effect. I have put an Octane Glossy material on the Hair object after the hair material, like it says to do in the manual. I also tried selecting the Hair material and clicking on "Convert Materials," then adding that to my Hair object. No luck. I get white, straight hairs rendering. If I let the simulation play and refresh the Live Viewer, they reflect the bending of the hairs, but I need more than that. I even tried adding some Displacement in the Octane material, but it has no effect. Am I missing something?
I'm in C4D R16 with Octane for C4D 2.23.1

Yes. I think you missed the lines in manual. LV is working as you see in viewport. Picture Viewer works with final hair output. Look at the sample scenes. There is some hair scenes.

Thanks for the quick response! I double-checked everything- still wasn't working. So, I started over with just a plain sphere with hair and then it worked. What I think is the problem is that I'm generating hair based on a point selection (I only want hair in very specific areas). Is there a way around this? The hair shows up in the Live Viewer in the correct location, but when I go to picture viewer I get no hairs at all.

are you trying my hair scenes? They have been configured for picture viewer and LV rendering!!!

Sorry, I meant to ask in my last post- where can I find those sample scenes? I didn't see them in the software download package for the plugin.

Do you see "Releases" section this C4D forum? You can find latest releases in this section. All your need is there.
